One of the games that i was most excited about was the Elder Scrolls Blades, a mobile version of one of my favorite game franchises. This was revealed during Fallout and Elder Scrolls Developer Bethesda’s E3 2018 Conference by executive producer Todd Howard. According to Howard, Blades is “a massive first person RPG with console quality graphics, but with a uniquely mobile experience.” Howard also indicated that Elder Scrolls Bladdes will eventually arrive on PC, VR, and anywhere else they can put it, so it is not limited to Mobiles only.
Elder Scrolls Blades Announcement at E3 2018 Video
Elder Scrolls Blades will be FREE TO PLAY and be available later this year, It features both handcrafted and procedurally generated dungeons, as well as traditional character leveling and customization as well as an endless mode called Abyss and a PvP mode called Arena. The main mode for Blades is called Town, this is where you get quests and get the opportunity to rebuild the town giving your character more options in their adventures. Blades also features portrait mode where you can opt to play the whole game with just one hand.
Todd Howard also said that Blades will be less open world like Skyrim and be more like older games such as Elder Scrolls: Arena: “We go back to Arena, which is really an awesome but glorified dungeon hack,” Howard told us. “We like the old Eye of the Beholders and all of that stuff, where I wanna go through a dungeon experience, and I still find that very interesting. We do it a lot. So Blades started there. And then you have full quests and a storyline and a hub. When you get those quests from the town, you either get a handcrafted dungeon or it will generate one. And then you play through that dungeon. And some of those dungeons are big outdoor areas.”
Android and iOS players can pre-order the game now via https://bethesda.net/play/blades/
