Kiven attended the Philippine Science High School (Diliman Campus) and finished his college education at the University of the Philippines (Diliman). He also publishes Pinoy Problogger, the pinoy bloggers guide to problogging and monetization and runs an independent wordpress consulting firm that also offers premium webhosting solutions.
Kiven can be usually found around the following Pinoy online communities: Pinoy-N, PinoyPsx, PinoyXbox, TipidPC and PinoyPC. He also joined Allexperts.com as an expert in 2000 under the field of Web Design and New Media, providing users with answers regarding Web Development, HTML and Layout Issues based on his online skills honed since 1996. He is one of the admins/moderators for Peyups.com and is also a longtime member of Philweavers.net, the philippines’ webdesigners network.
He also previously served as an Operations Manager for a local Call Center and as the Online Manager (Web, Multimedia, Interactive) for Hinge Inquirer Publications, one of local magazine publishers and the Inquirer Group’s magazine arm. HIP’s stable of magazines then included Mobile Philippines, Game! Magazine, Golf Digest Philippines, PC Magazine, BURN Magazine, Food and Beverage World, SME Insight and Spark for Kids.
Kiven was then employed by the biggest local online games publisher, Level Up! as their Editor-in-Chief and Head of Multimedia. He was the primary architect of their current end to end web process, and was in charge of: web based analytics, ad delivery systems, website design/development and the main proponent of the unified Multimedia team. He won 3 Philippine Web Awards for Level Up! during his tenure and showed that WordPress was a capable and robust CMS at a time when it was believed to be strictly a blogging tool in the Philippines.
Kiven now works as a Producer/Project Manager for one of the leading game studios in the Philippines, FunGuy Studio, and oversees projects on the web, SNS and mobile platforms (iOS and Android) for local and international clients.
