Chris Benoit and family found dead in their home

Wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and 7 year old son Daniel have been found dead in their Georgia home. Benoit, known as the Canadian Crippler and The Rabid Wolverine in the WWE, is known to professional wrestling fans as one of the greatest technical wrestlers of all time. Fayetteville, Georgia authorities’ official findings was that a double murder-suicide took place from within the home. The authorities are currently going on the theory that Benoit murdered his wife and son over the course of the weekend, before taking his own life. Benoit also reportedly sent bizarre text messages to friends within WWE which prompted them to ask for local authorities help after Benoit went MIA for two shows.

And its not only the WWE covering the tragic deaths, even rival Total Nonstop Wrestling has sent their condolences. Major sports news networks covered the tragedy as seen below:

“The details, when they come out are going to prove a little bizarre,” said Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard, according to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Pope told ABC News “the instruments of death were located on scene,” but would not specify what those instruments are or where in the house the bodies were found. Pope added the department is “not actively searching for any suspects outside of the house.”

The house is in a secluded neighborhood set back about 60 yards off a gravel road, surrounded by stacked stone wall and a double-iron gate. On Monday night, the house was dark except for a few outside lights. There was a police car in front, along with two uniformed officers.

p.s. Shouldn’t the WWE scrap that silly “Vince is dead” skit in light of what has happened? My guess is they wont as merchandise ads ironically litter the Chris Benoit content on the WWE site…..
