Former WWE Wrestler Test dies

IGN reports that “Former WWE Wrestler, Andrew “Test” Martin, was found dead over the weekend at his Florida residence, reports FOXNews.com. Martin was 33 years old.

Reports of the wrestler’s death came soon after neighbors called the police, having observed Martin motionless for several hours in his Tampa, FL home. Martin’s exact cause of death remains unknown, but police have officially ruled out foul play.

Martin made his WWF/WWE debut in 1998, as a bodyguard for the band Mötley Crüe, when the band was scheduled to perform on an episode of Sunday Night Heat. In a scripted event, Martin threw an overzealous fan off the stage during the band’s rehearsal. Martin joined the WWE in 1998, where he won many of the wrestling organization’s major titles before suffring a major back injury.

As of press time, there is no official cause for Martin’s death.

Following his back injury, Martin tried several unsuccessful comebacks, but failed a drug test and was suspended in February 2007. “Test” was best known for his on and off-screen relationships with Stacy Keibler and Stephanie McMahon, the latter of which being the daughter of WWE head Vince McMahon.

He is the fourth ex-professional wrestler to die in the Tampa area in the past two years.
