Marvel Studios Thor movie is directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Star Trek’s Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Anthony Hopkins, Jaimie Alexander, Stellan Sarsgard and Kat Dennings. The film is scheduled for a summer 2011 release.

Following in the footsteps of once pay-to-play or MMORPGs such as D&D Online and Lord of the Rings Online, Sony Online Entertainment is launching a free-to-play or F2P version of EverQuest II, which will be a completely separate from the existing game. What what?

Free to play is becoming more popular in the western massively multiplayer online role-playing game industry, and today it consumes its most high profile MMORPG yet. Free to play is the de facto monetization standard of MMORPGs in Asia and it looks like Western devs are feeling the pressure to switch.

Ragnarok Online 2, the MMO sequel to the wildly popular Onlinme game developed by Korean developer Gravity, revealed eight concept arts for its four new life professions.

Ragnarok Online 2 was remade using a new new graphics enginewhich hopefully enhances the gameplay and the original class structure and core features like the card system and pet system.

“It’s a difficult question to answer,” Lee admitted. “We launched Ragnarok II in 2007. That version wasn’t really enough for the market, so we tried to revise all the systems, but it takes time. We changed the engine and everything, it’s like a totally new game. The engine changed several times, but now we’re using Gamebryo.”
The game is nearing completion now, and Lee says “We’re going to release the game next year.”

In addition to the original five starting classes, mainly Swordsman, Mage, Priest, Thief and Archer, the developer has also unveiled the concept arts of four new life professions including Doctor, Blacksmith, Cook and Tailor.

RaiderZ is a new MMORPG game from the developers behind online shooter GunZ, Neowiz. Raiderz is currently undergoing internal testing and a public beta for Korea is planned some time in 2011. RaiderZ will be relying on non-targeted combat to test player skill and control in order to defeat unique monsters that inhabit the game world.

RaiderZ gameplay consists of fighting tough battles against large boss style monsters similiar to the Monster Hunter franchise. Encounters will eventually resemble a boss raid with each monster type exhibiting unique behaviours and will require a strategy to defeat. RaiderZ is planned to be class-free, which means players can mix and match over 350 skills that will be available for Open Beta. The main aim is to avoid the restrictions of the traditional systems and give players a choice in how they want to play the game.
