Update: Devean George invoked a rare option to block the trade. WTF? | source
It looks like Jason Kidd is indeed going to Dallas as Nets Coach Lawrence Frank is already talking about life without his allstar point guard and Kidd inactive for the nets’ game against Toronto this evening.
The deal — salvaged from talks on a three-way trade with Portland that developed and fizzled quickly two weeks ago — has Dallas sending 24-year-old point guard Devin Harris, veteran swingman Jerry Stackhouse, the expiring contracts of center DeSagana Diop and swingman Devean George and guard Maurice Ager to New Jersey for Kidd and forward Malik Allen.
Nets coach Lawrence Frank already was talking about life without his All-Star point guard.
“I love him. He’s a very special person, but it’s time for both him and the organization to part ways,” Frank said before the Nets’ game in Toronto.
“We’re giving up a Hall of Fame point guard and some good role players. If this deal goes through, we’ll be receiving some very good players as well and a new era of Nets basketball will start because Jason is that significant a player.”
Kidd was with the Nets in Toronto, but didn’t talk to the media before the game. He and Allen were both inactive, along with reserve Antoine Wright.
Of course he can block the trade! He’s Devean George. He’s the pillar of the Mavericks. He shot 0 out of 2,365 vs Portland…
what the? i think that’s a good move for the nets. tumatanda na rin kasi si kidd.
Aww…. Okay lng ma trade si Jason Kidd sa Mavericks, My favorite team, but, wag ipalit si Devin Harris kasi siya ung next star of Mavericks. pwede, they can give Deaven George, DeSagasa Diop, Jerry Stackhouse and si Armstrong. Hahaha, go MAVS and wag niyo bigay si Dirk lagot kayo
