Beast of Reincarnation is an upcoming action RPG developed by Game Freak and published by Fictions. It is also the first AAA game title by Game Freak outside of the Pokemon franchise. The game is being directed by Kota Furushima, who contributed to the battle system and sound for various Pokémon titles.
An new original one-person, one-dog ARPG, Beast of Reincarnation will launch this summer for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Beast of Reincarnation features Emma the Sealer, a young woman with mysterious powers that can manipulate plants for movement and fight enemies. She also has a dog companion known as Koo, together they battle to free post-apocalyptic Japan from corrupted creatures.
The game’s art style is similar to the Ghibli films but also has elements of a futuristic, post apocalyptic setting. Gameplay-wise, Beast of Reincarnation will play similar to games such as Wukong Black Myth, Sekiro and Nier Automata.
I’m excited to see the different game systems that Game Freak has built into this world, as well as Game Freak’s ability to delivery a more realistic graphic style. Hopefully, we also get a demo soon and maybe a Switch 2 port down the line?
