NCsoft Blade & Soul English version is coming!

YES! Ncsoft just confirmed that Blade and Soul will see an English version and western hemisphere release! Read the NCSoft PR below:

BRIGHTON, UK – SEPTEMBER 13, 2012: NCsoft ®, the world’s premier publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games (MMOs), today confirms its Western expansion plans for Blade & Soul, the wildly successful Asian martial arts fantasy MMO developed by Team Bloodlust, an in-house studio based in NCsoft’s headquarters in Seoul. Blade & Soul has already captured the hearts of millions, consistently ranking one of the top games in PC cafés across South Korea since its launch eleven weeks ago, and plans to reach the same level of success and popularity in Western markets.

Blade & Soul brings MMO and RPG gaming communities an online world rich in Asian martial arts, a theme that has traditionally been limited to fighting games. Once Blade & Soul launches in the West, players will have the ability to experience the flowing nature of action martial arts that they have come to love, but will experience it in a modern format blended together with deep story lines and an epic online world populated by millions.

Bringing to life the fantasy style and signature character movement made popular by the classic martial arts adventure films House of Flying Daggers and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Blade & Soul allows players to embrace the essence of historic martial arts combat, set in a beautiful world inspired by the stunning art of renowned artist Hyung-Tae Kim, Team Bloodlust’s Blade & Soul lead artist. Kim’s strong international manga following and his unique style of blending Japanese anime and Korean art will expand Blade & Soul’s appeal to a broad audience.

Exact release timing for Blade & Soul has not been confirmed, but NCsoft is already aggressively tailoring the title for Western players, working closely with Team Bloodlust to ensure the rich Asian martial arts theme stays intact.

NCSoft acquires Ntreev Soft

Korean games developer/publisher NCsoft has acquired fellow developer Ntreev Soft after 7 months of negotiations with previous owner SK Telecom, taking over 76% share of the firm said to be valued at KRW108 billion(US$96.7M).

Ntreev Soft has been a casual games powerhouse having released the popular online golf game Pangya and an online horse racing game Alicia’s NCsoft has been known as a strong hardcore MMORPG company with Lineage, Lineage 2, Aion, Blade&Soul, and Guild Wars 2.

NCsoft is said to been looking forward to this deal as it had a hard time with its past casual online games such as Toy Strikers, Exteel, Point Blank, Atrix, Dragonica, and Punch Monster. Ntreev ‘s addition into the NCSoft family immediately bolsters NCSoft’s casual games pedigree.

Lineage Eternal (Lineage 3)

Lineage Eternal (Also known as Lineage 3) is a new next-generation MMORPG being developed by Korean game developer/publisher NCsoft. Based on the Lineage franchise, Lineage 3 features upgraded massive war scenarios, unique modern battle system, intelligent system, and dynamic positioning perspective. It also looks a LOT like Diablo 3!!!

Lineage Eternal Trailer

Like the other two Lineage installments, Lineage Eternal is also set in in the continent of Aden 200 years. The game was announced in November 8, 2011 and presented in G-Star 2011 in November 10, 2011.Some media in South Korea assume that Lineage Eternal will be released in 2014.

Key Game Features of Lineage Eternal (Lineage 3)

Drag & Hold Control System
The Drag & Hold control system is NCsoft’s exclusive next-gen control technology, skipping the way of single-click and continuously hitting keyboard. It allows players to launch attacks within the area their mouse draws while in the face of multiple enemies. For instance, players can cast flame to deal continuous damage following a designated route. Moreover, they can also adjust their positions and draw a circle to surround their enemies. It is like the gameplay shown on consoles. Actually, through this system, players can deeply feel that they are fighting in the game rather than their characters.

Close to Hack and Slash Genre
Actually, the Hack and Slash in Lineage Eternal is different from Diablo or other games. Lineage Eternal is more than a Hack and Slash game. Players have to make flexible use of attack, defense and dodge in order to survive. Aside from that, the game’s rhythm and tempo is different from Hack and Slash games, so we can only say Lineage Eternal is close to Hack and Slash genre.

Bring Cinematic Overwhelming Large-scale Warfare
The greatest advantage of Lineage Eternal lies in its realization of massive warfare and a thrill of sweeping swarms of enemies. In the meantime, players can enjoy stirring wars and control combat rhythm as well as solve puzzles to remove threats by making use of surroundings.

Liven up the Whole Situation in Great Chaos
What Lineage Eternal pursues is a heroic experience in which players hurl themselves into resisting hundreds or thousands of enemies and leading companions into victory. When myriads of enemies are rushing forward, heroes can hold the situation with powerful skills. Even though heroes run into danger for the moment, their companions can overcome difficulties with firm front line.

Interactive Objects
In the game, Interactive Objects offer refreshing and interesting battle experiences. For example, when players stand on a broken bridge, they can throw a hook to the other side to cross over slowly. They can even climb up to the city walls by grasping companions’ feet. All of such designs make the game more complicated and entertaining.

Smart View System
Featuring large-scale battlefields, Lineage Eternal has also introduced a Smart View system, where the camera automatically adjusts itself for the best view for players, helping players adopt the best tactics in different situations.

Creative and Resourceful Usage of Items
Of all setups, the striking one is the creative and resourceful usage of items such as using ropes to pull teammates up a wall. And the most common object, say a hook, can serve as another ready example. In the game, when baffled by a broken bridge or a high wall that must be crossed, players can fling the hook to the other side and crawl over or climb high via it. And it’s even possible to overcome some barriers by setting up human-ladder to help allies to pass.

A more intuitive system
As a speed-centric game, Lineage Eternal will adopt a more intuitive system involving lines, circles and the like. When skills are released, the use rate of keyboard and mouse will account for 30% and 70% respectively.

WildStar is the newest sci-fi MMORPG online game from developer Carbine and publisher NCSoft. Carbine is made up of ex-Blizzard developers and at first glance, Wildstar looks to fill in the void of a World of Starcraft-style MMORPG. The art style alone hooked me on this awesome looking MMO and i cant wait to be able to join the Beta!

Check out our comprehensive media coverage and system requirements list for WildStar:

Wildstar Character Types
According to Neoseeker: Granok is that big golem in the Wildstar trailer, he’s a Warrior class who relies on Adrenaline and Fuel Cells to support his power. “Adrenaline will drain once you are out of combat. Fuel Cells, on the other hand, regen on their own.”

We also have the Human classes with the man with two guns, and Aurin is the female character. The man you see in the trailer is a Spellslinger armed with a pair of magic pistols and a teleport ability. Spellslinger’s attack depends on Charge and Arcana. Charge determines how powerful your attack is and Arcana affects Spellslinger’s magic skills.

Aurin is the female character and the one in the trailer is Esper class and she uses Combo Points and Mana. Combo Points increases the effectiveness of certain abilities and Mana is obviously for casting a magic.
