Globe Cloudfone Ice (Huawei U8500)

In an apparent bid to “counter” SMART’s awesome Netphone 701 and it’s new SMARTNET service, Globe is reportedly releasing an android phone called Cloudfone Ice (some say it’s spelled Cloudphone) priced at 4,900 pesos.

WTF is a Cloudfone Ice you ask? Well according to the intarwebs, it’s basically a cheap android device (rebranded Huawei U8500) with recycled Globe data packs built in. Yep, the Smartphone 701 not only has better specs but a better platform to support it.

The Globe Cloudphone is cheaper but IMHO if you’re going for an android phone, get the Smartphone 701 or wait for Smart’s 4 new NETPHONE hardware releases this 4th quarter of 2011. Methinks, The secret isnt just in the phone, it is also in the platform that supports it.

Je says:

This is another “sucky” China-branded phone. I have tried these devices particularly from MyPhone and it really sucks in performance. If one can afford to by a decent Android phone, I think that paying for a decent plan would not be a problem. If Android phones are to be, then HTC it is.

Asasa says:

kelangan po ba naka PLAN ito pag binili?
