Richard, Zedd, and Kahlan stumble upon the first “Listener”, special individuals who can sense what others are really thinking, in 700 years. But he is just a boy and the forces of Darken Rahl have enslaved him to do the Master of D’Hara’s bidding.
Knowing that such power in Darken Rahl’s hands will result in catastrophe, Zedd devises a plan to save the boy. Richard and Kahlan go with with the plan, not realizing that the boy also has the ability to read one’s dark secrets…
