Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB Review
Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB Review
I have been looking for an extra backup drive ever since i filled up my HDD enclosure with uhhh stuff and finally decided to get a Seagate FreeAgent Pro 500GB. Why this version? Seagate has another version called FreeAgent Desktop but it doesnt have the eSATA, FireWire ports and the nifty backup software that comes with the Pro version.
Thanks to Ms. Dhang of Millennium Computer Technology Corp. for the drive.
This drive is so easy to setup , Seagate even tore a page off Apple’s smug packaging style with the manuals and box that comes with the FreeAgent Pro. How easy? I just turned it on, connected it to my laptop and installation of the Drive utilities and backup apps, presto: Instant 500GB of storage.
Pros
- Easy to setup
- Outstanding looks
- Fast 7200rpm drive, noticeable especially on firewire and eSATA
- Good backup software
- Good price
- 5 year Seagate Warranty
Cons
- Power plug doesnt come with an adaptor for “normal” sockets
- It aint exactly portable, but for the capacity the size is not an issue
