Playground Gaming Magazine
Browsing through a copy of this new pinoy gaming magazine called Playground thanks to GM Tristan. Looks like Game! magazine finally has some competition.
Impressions about the Maiden issue of Playground by publisher October Eighty:
- Their editorial Box looks familiar with old friends manning some of the posts.
- Cover fails miserably, so bleak and boring
- I like the thickness and size
- Layout is horrible, reminds me of a PDF download. only those have flash animations built in
- Console gaming is well represented, but i’d still rather get my updated news via online sources
- Quite a bit of advertisers sprinkled throughout
- No strategy guide of any kind, mostly opinions
Oh and get a website, guys…lol

I just got a copy of Playground Magazine yesterday, and boy these copies are running out fast!
I think the concept of the cover (and actually the magazine itself) is a new twist to what we see in magazines today which are all mediocre. I think the idea of seeing custom art is neat. In my opinion, the layout works just fine.
Pretty impressive for a maiden issue. I’m sure it’ll only get better.
