Shin Megami Tensei – Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha versus the Soulless Army

Whew, thats some title. Probably a shoo-in for the longest title in a video game this year (or maybe even in the last 5 years). Ok, back to the game itself. In SMTDS RKVSSA for the PS2, Raidou Kuzunoha is the title given to a long line of spirit/devil hunters. The setting is roughly equal to 1920’s Japan, the difference is that spirits are everywhere and there are a number of people who can see them. Your job is to solve cases involving these spirits and bring peace back to the neighborhood. Part of your job is to raise, collect, combine, and train spirits and use them in battle against wayward devils and people. Think Phoenix Wright mixed with Pokemon in the Shim Megami Tensei universe and your not far off from what the game is all about. I just wish the battles were a little less frequent and added more of a strategic depth.
